I got home late last night after an Orange Manjushri empowerment, and decided not to set the alarm for an early meditation this morning. It was good to catch the extra hour of sleep, but I am finding that my patience is rather thin with my children today, who are tired from a long and difficult week and a relatively late night themselves. I remember the Dalai Lama joking in Ottawa in 2004 that sometimes the best meditation for westerners is sleep... and I don't regret the decision I made for today. I will meditate before I go to bed tonight. But today I have a heightened awareness of the benefit of patience that meditation brings to my family life.
A question to ponder this weekend (all answers welcomed in the comments section):
How does meditation help you in your daily life? What are the specific benefits you feel arise from your meditation practice?
En quoi la méditation vous sert dans votre vie quotidienne? Quels sont les bienfaits spécifiques de votre pratique?
